But then, my first watch was without having 3D-coat open trying to follow along. It isn't even obvious to me which of the buttons I'd select at startup to access the room you're working in. As a newbie, I lost track of your menu selections almost immediately, and stayed lost throughout the video. You do a good job of explaining the reasoning behind your process choices, but you assume we know enough about the software to follow along with your menu selections. and in my case you can't under estimate the depths of my ignorance. I appreciate the time you've put into this! One problem with all tutorials is tailoring it to the stupidity level of your audience. Ziggy, I just watched thru this for the first time. Farscaper I know what you mean - someone could interfere with my tentacles, and that's not cool. From there you can find your way to more advanced programs like blender if you need. Ziggy72 Posts: Rocque 3D Coat is a 'heavy' modelling program, for a far simpler, easier to understand (and free) introduction to 3D start with Sketchup. Maybe another time I will try the next 6 minutes. Keep making the tutorials maybe one day I will have an idea of what it is all about. It looks like fun, but I better stick with my day job for now, because this is way out of my league. I got as far as 6 minutes and felt my head spinning since I have no clue how you are doing any of that. And how fair would it be if I somehow created a Zoidberg avatar and tried to interact in some way with ziggy72? I'd feel like an idiot or 二死了。 It would almost be self-flagellation if we weren't certain that the tailor could surely have the skills to needle the wearer. )īut imagine the indignity of being insulted or otherwise attacked by some avatar wearing the very outfit you yourself created. Maybe it would be better to just remain friends. then we could take turns making episodes that skewer one another. Each person could create and contribute a Muvizu character for him/herself. I liked the representation of yourself and immediately thought it would be fun to create an ongoing saga starring the active forum members. Parts 2 & 3 should be up by the end of the week. Good job and thanks for taking the time to do it for us. As long as you are one step ahead of me I've got something to learn. If we were good we wouldn't be looking at tutorials. WooHoo! Thanks for this, Ziggy! Can't wait to dive in! You couldn't have produced this at a better time since I just bought 3D coat and I'm a bit bogged down in the learning curve. They publish new builds nearly the agony at the end. That's because I can see Pilgway is really hard at work on this new piece of software. I hope that soon there will be updated and useful step-by-step tutorials on the way. It's a pain to invest dozens of hours to search and find something you need.īut hey, these weeks the new version "2021" has just been released. But it lacks professional tutorial series. Sure, some of the aspects of the software are still living. you can make a wide search on the internet and will find some interesting videos that explain something useful about 3DC. Yeah, that's what I mentioned in my first post. but there's no professional tier training, short and concise videos, that shows 3DCoat in use as the abstracted 3d specific toolset that it is ? There's an abundance of long drawn out, barely informative videos that show how someone makes a character or some other random object. it appears that there are no professional tier (technical) training videos for 3D Coat. I've been through youtube and the links in this thread.as well as the 3dCoat tutorial website section. The first breaks down how I build a reusable character body base and the second on how to start with a sculpt, retopo, bake, texture and export. I've made a few tutorials over the years and lately a weekly sculpt session for a game I'm working on. Please Andrew, don't ignore the fact that so many people don't know how to proper use this gem. Also, relying on third party paid tuts would be a mistake for many reasons. I can't see a better commercial to improve the sales. I am sure this sounds familiar to many on this forum regarding other great names in CG industry.Įvery single full tutorial will advertise 3DCoat. And the very next day, I wouldn't mind at all if they will use a different workflow to same result. I need them to show me, step by step, over and over again the WHOLE process of creation, back and forth, from zero to render. It is mandatory for Pilgway to partner withĪ handful of skilled people as "ambassadors" of this marvelous piece of software. Imho, the lack of high quality tutorials is the biggest drawback in sales for 3D-Coat. Other apps like the software with the big "Z" offers dozens of tutorials. Yesterday I upgraded my license and the system works so far.
